We learned so much about home purchasing during this process. We had an inspector come out to the property and he went through the entire property to investigate any issues. He was really thorough and probably even though we were crazy for considering purchasing this house.

In addition to the home inspector, I had called in many tradesmen to get bids on work needed to be done. We wanted to have a clear picture on how much money the house would need to get done in order to make an informed purchasing decision. This was done all before we made an offer on the house! We made it a rule to get at least 3 bids on each of the systems: electrical, hvac, plumbing and also got bids from multiple general contractors, a well.
